Life on Lake Zurich
Crystal clear water, turquoise in color, embraced with the beautiful snow capped mountains. It is absolutely breathtaking! The surrounding homes are grouped very close together around the lake. Unlike Germany and France where they have there little villages that are scattered through out.
As you roam the city you can’t help but to notice the beautiful buildings that fill it. There is the old town of Zurich that is all cobblestone streets and alleys. Only the trams and people go through that part of town during the day. With a abundance of cafe’s, restaurants, high end shopping and we can’t forget the all the chocolate shops.
No matter what direction you turn there are steeples. Dozens of them. Zurich is the home of the largest clock face in Europe. Cruising through the lake, people are sunbathing on walls, small beaches and tiny country clubs with multi colored umbrellas.
There was an Iron Man Race with people from all over the world on Sunday and it basically took over the city. Although the city was beautiful, the people in it were nasty and they lacked of service, anywhere was disheartening, Not that you shouldn’t go. It still was a great experience.
The Swiss Alps
We took the scenic tour through the Swiss Alps on our way to Lake Como. It had waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes. The road took us to the altitude of 5,200 feet. Incredible! You could hear the cow bells from the herd that was beneath us.
As you drive through, it goes from German to French to Italian, all in Switzerland. The signs even change to the language they speak.
It was a drive I will never forget!
There is so much more to see. We are only half was through our adventure. Next stop Lake Como Italy. A different kind of Lake.
