Hello Winnenden

We arrived in Stuttgart and it was a typical European city with a lot of traffic, construction and motorcycles. Then out of the blue we made a hard right, off the main highway around the bend, then up a hill, then say hello to the little town of Winnenden.
This beautiful picturesque town is nestled in hills of grapevines and orchids. It’s like something you would see in the movies.
We are visiting our friends Evelyn & Siggi and there son Patrick.

Watching the sunrise gave me that Tuscan feeling. The air, crisp and clean with no humidity. If this is anything like our weather is going to be while we are here, it’s going to be more amazing than I thought.
I don’t know if any of you are car buffs, but even if you’re not into the Mercedes museum it is a great place to visit. Did you know that Mercedes was the first to develop the automobile? Who knew? They went through decades of rises and falls. They show all of this by taking you through a history timeline. It parallels with what was going on the world at the time and if you’re not into history the cars are amazing. They even have a Pope Mobile on display.
This is festival season for Europe and we went to one last night. It was very special. This very small town gathered through the city. Big bands playing music, everyone enjoying each other’s company. There was nothing but smiles of warmth and hospitality, Everyone just happy to be there.
This is Sophia and Lena I met them in the town square enjoying the festivities.
Just having a glimpse of what I saw has shown me why people can fall in love with Germany!
Till next time
